Information about the OpenSource project

Description of the project
Time-O-Meter is a web-based timesheet system for engineering offices as well as small and medium sized companies in the services sector. It provides flexible, project-based time recording and simplifies project monitoring. Furthermore, it is the company-wide, standard basis of information for all employees.

Who is the software's intended audience?
Time-O-Meter is suited for companies with a project-based organization, where each employee works on several projects for different clients, possibly on the same day.

What are the system requirements for your software, and what do people need to know about getting it set-up and running?
You need a web server which runs PHP and MySQL. Some features require a cron job. All that is needed on the client end is a web browser and an internet connection.

Where do you see your project going?
We want to improve the performance and implement some new features. We hope to replace the spreadsheet-based time recording, which is common practice in a large number of companies.

What's on your project wish list?
We would like to implement these features next: travel costs, UTF-8 Support, additional languages, the integration of website- and e-mail templates, as well as an employee history.

How is the project organized?
We have two developers working on Time-O-Meter. They are responsible for debugging and feature requests. They also coordinate the efforts of our QA-Testers.

How many hours a month does the development-team devote to the project?
Each developer works approximately 20-40 hours per month on the project.

How can others contribute?
People can contribute by localizing Time-O-Meter for other countries, writing documentation, reporting bugs, and developing bug fixes and new functionality.

Why was the project placed on SourceForge.net?
We hope that others will use Time-O-Meter and give us feedback, feature-requests, and suggestions for further improvement.
